A HALF ZIP THAT PASSES THE COMMANDO TEST
In WWI, wool was so important to British soldiers on the front lines that knitting wool sweaters was seen as a patriotic duty. By WWII, wool’s reputation was further solidified. However, SAS members spent extended periods in the field, laden with rucksacks and additional equipment, constantly on the move.
After witnessing repeated failures with their traditional wool sweaters, the SAS sought a lighter alternative, reinforcing the shoulders for durability. This became the iconic British Commando Sweater, and the inspiration for what we call the “commando test” — to pass muster, Merino wool must be reinforced in high stress areas. If it’s not, it simply fails too fast like the traditional wool garments that the SAS rejected.
We build ALL GORUCK Merino Wool tops with reinforced paneling on the shoulders so your Merino shirt keeps its structure better over the long haul – representing the standard for performance in the Merino wool category and passing the Commando Test. This ensures that your Merino shirt maintains its shape over time, while still providing all the advantages of Merino, such as odor resistance and perfect temperature regulation, regardless of the adventure or mission at hand.
TOUGHMESH™ FABRIC — THE ITALIAN JOB
A featherweight training jacket that excels during a long ruck and your toughest workouts, dries lightning fast to keep you moving. We built these to our exacting standards using proprietary, made-in-Italy ToughMesh™ fabric.
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” - da Vinci
ToughMesh™ is our world-class, featherweight fabric milled at the foothills of the Italian Alps, not far from where da Vinci painted The Last Supper. It took us five years to develop, test and prove a fabric that could thrive in our way of life — no cost, time, or rigor was spared to create a line of apparel that’s tough enough to endure the demands of rucking and training and will dry long before you could drink your first beer, which will be well earned.
We’re proud of the outcome and hope you wear it hard.
A LONG SLEEVE TEE THAT PASSES THE COMMANDO TEST

However, SAS members spent extended periods in the field, laden with rucksacks and additional equipment, constantly on the move.
After witnessing repeated failures with their traditional wool sweaters, the SAS sought a lighter alternative, reinforcing the shoulders and elbows for durability. This became the iconic British Commando Sweater, and the inspiration for what we call the “commando test” — to pass muster, Merino wool must be reinforced in high stress areas. If it’s not, it simply fails too fast like the traditional wool garments that the SAS rejected.

TOUGHMESH™ FABRIC — THE ITALIAN JOB
Built in the USA, a featherweight training shirt that thrives during your hardest workouts and dries lightning fast. We built these tees to our exacting standards using proprietary, made-in-Italy ToughMesh™ fabric.

FRESH WITHOUT BREAKING A SWEAT
Our 89% Merino wool blend is antimicrobial, quick drying, and insulating, while the 12% Nylon helps the fabric retain its shape and be more abrasion resistant. Merino wool is naturally breathable, so you won’t be sweating through this polo like you did all your others whether you’re at the office or rucking off the beaten path. The natural antimicrobial property of Merino wool means that when sweating can’t be helped, the stink doesn’t penetrate into the fabric. Wear it all day and it’s still fresh when happy hour rolls around.
BUILT TO LAST
Anti-Chafe — helping prevent monkey butt and other forms of weird chafing.
We spent three years developing the ultimate combination of compression, moisture wicking and comfort that would live up to our GORUCK standards. Built from the ground up, these compression shorts combine a 240 gram fabric that provides just the right amount of compression with a 100 gram grid mesh that enhances breathability in all the right places. A custom jacquard elastic waistband completes the style with additional quality and comfort. Built to handle your toughest workouts and replace your daily boxer briefs, keeping the chafe away.
Wake up, move your ass. Get a workout in, drink a pot or two of coffee, take a ruck meeting, grab a cold beer at the end of the day, rinse, and repeat. Our tough as nails sweatpants are built for all kinds of "work" including the kinds where you really sweat.
A subtle cuff at the bottom keeps (some) debris out - if nothing gets in, though, roll around in the dirt some more, it'll be OK.
Proudly overbuilt in the USA and backed by the best guarantee on the market, our Scars Lifetime Guarantee.
MERINO BOTTOMS - A GODSEND
If your ruck is heavy and your trek is long, unless it’s Antarctica cold AF, you don’t need a base layer on your legs. Your pants break the wind and your movement keeps you warm.
But when the sun drops, or your movement is limited and your hatred of the cold rears its head, our merino long johns become a Godsend. They keep you warm when it’s cold and they breathe when the sun reigns down again.
Designed, tested, proven and built in the USA by American craftsmen and women, GORUCK Merino Bottoms come with our Scars Lifetime Guarantee.
Supportive + Minimal
Built for those who are looking for more support, the compression from our proven ToughStretch Fabric (the same as our Tough Leggings) provides just that during all high-impact movements. The superior yet streamlined construction includes wide straps, minimal seams, and no clasps, to ensure your sports bra won’t dig into your shoulders underneath your rucksack.
Designed and built from the ground up in the USA.
Care Instructions: Machine wash cold, use only non-chlorine bleach when needed, and hang dry.
Tested + Proven
Similar to the Women's Performance Tank, the Women's USA Tank is a featherweight training shirt that thrives during your hardest workouts and dries lightning fast. We built these tees to our exacting standards using proprietary, made-in-Italy ToughMesh™ fabric.

Lightweight + Versatile
A featherweight, buttery-soft singlet built to handle the heat—whether that’s a brutal workout or the midday sun. This isn’t just another tank—it’s made with our proprietary ToughMesh, a world-class premium fabric milled in Italy at the foot of the Alps, where performance, toughness, and elegance collide. It’s lighter than you’d expect, packs down to nothing, and allows you to move freely—perfect for travel, training, and everything in between.
Designed and built from the ground up in the USA.
VEST OF POWER
It will keep you f***ing warm.
We built the Vest of Power from the ground up. The first reason we did this is that vests are a near perfect layer — more than a t-shirt but less than a big jacket, and with all the zippered pockets, they’re perfect for traveling. The second reason is that at some point power vests became a statement of environmental bona fides and politics. As for environmentalism — USA built stuff that never fails and won’t end up in a landfill is about as environmentally conscious as it gets.
As for politics, in our Vest of Power you’ll find the American Flag — red, white, and blue — there’s our politics for you.
The GORUCK brand stands for Building Better Americans, the Special Forces way of life, and a life or death approach to building the world’s toughest gear.
Breathable + Protective
Built with featherweight Italian ToughMesh in the USA — this top is built to breathe, wick sweat, and shield your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Perfect for travel, training, and everything in between. Wear often and use hard.
